CBGIR: Content-Based Geographic Image Retrieval
Instructions:
Select an image using the Cities drop-down box and zoom to an appropriate scale. Right click for the top-left and bottom-right corners of your query region.
You should now see the query image above the Submit Query button. Choose which feature you want to perform the similarity retrieval with. Finally, click the Submit Query button.
Your results should appear in a separate window in decreasing similarity wto the query image. You can now select a different feature and reissue the query for comparison. Left click to clear the query image.
Note that the Bag of Visual Words search can take a while (a minute or two depending on the complexity of the image). The other searches should be fairly quick. Texture features cannot be extracted from small regions (you will get a message indicating this in the text box below the Feature Type). The texture features are sensitive to the zoom level (to the scale). Therefore, try different scales.
